This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As any teacher knows, second semester starts off with need. Drawers of supplies that were full in August are now down to the dregs. A bustling classroom uses a lot of things, and after all, supplies are meant to be used. And my students make use of the supplies to create beautiful art projects, analyze contemporary texts, give presentations and speeches, and more. But what that means is that, right now, I am looking at needing to restock quite a bit in my classroom.
I maintain a Student Center in my classroom where students can help themselves to whatever they need, and I need your support to keep it going next semester.
The Student Center is essential because many of my students do not have the financial means to buy their own supplies, and many of them also need support with basic necessities. I don't ever want my students to come to school worried because they don't have a pencil or unable to focus because their stomach is empty. After all, they work exceptionally hard every single day. Many of them will be the first in their families to go to college. They deserve to have a classroom as dynamic as they are.
Therefore, I am asking for support to restock the Student Center with snacks, supplies, and necessities. Lately, I have been restocking supplies and snacks myself, but I need help to continue to do so. If you can, please consider donating to help me get through this spring semester with a fully stocked Student Center. My students and I appreciate it!
