My students need mirrors, clay and sculpting tools for two art projects in my Chemistry class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have brought my Chemistry content alive to my students with art projects related to my subject during each of our units of study. The projects have been a success, but the materials are running low!
I teach in a large urban high school in Southern California with a wonderful group of students.
They might be low income, but they have every desire to be successful and achieve to the highest level. Their motivation has helped me step up my game and become more engaging, exciting, and relevant to my students. By incorporating art, I have opened up a whole new world to my students.
My Project
Before my class, students didn't realize that clay contains different elements on the periodic table. They also didn't realize that glass can be etched with a strong acid (Hydrofluoric). Through donations in the past, I was able to bring both of these highly popular projects to my classroom. With more clay, tools and mirrors, I could repeat these projects to inspire a whole new group of students this year.
Thank you for considering donating to my classroom.
These materials will bring my content to life, inspire my students, and motivate me to keep doing what I'm doing. With your help, I can motivate another group of students like I have in the past 6 years.
