My Project
Like every other band room in America, ours is filled with a multitude of school-owned band instruments. From clarinets to flutes, to trumpets and trombones, even a string bass or two! And like every single band room in America, the instruments sometimes break and need to be repaired. The good news is that we have an excellent music store to repair them. The bad news is that a repair may be one spring or a pad away from being fixed, and we can do that ourselves... if we had the right tools.
Our current stock of instrument pads and tools is completely outdated, dry-rotted, or non-existent, and a new set of repair tools would enable us to fix some of the instruments.
Sometimes, the band instruments and even the piano need a slight "tweak" from one of us, and this project will help us fix some of these instruments with ease. It is also good to show students how they can fix their instruments to prevent a costly trip to the repair center.
