This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We love books and reading in our classroom! Spending time reading, learning, exploring, or getting lost in a book in our cozy library corner is a favorite thing to do. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our first two projects, our book collection has greatly expanded. Our growing book collection has led to reimagining our classroom literary oasis with a bigger and better organizational system!

Your support of our project will help make our growing collection of books more easily accessible to students and promote greater independent choice guided by interest.

Adding crates will allow for us to include more books in our library corner, and the bins will improve the display of our collection. Labeling will also be upgraded as books will be color coded indicating whether they are fiction or nonfiction. Labels will also include numbers for easy return to bins which are grouped by topics and themes. Above and beyond improving accessibility and choice, students will also be able to more actively participate in keeping their library organized. This will help foster a greater sense of responsibility for caring for our library corner.

We would greatly appreciate your support in this project to reorganize our classroom library and help our students make the most of their beloved literary oasis!
