My Students
The students in my school range in age from 4-11 years old. These wonderful, imaginative little minds are ready to soak up all the information and fun they are going to experience in my classroom.
My students deserve the best education they can possibly get.
They are an amazing group of kids who work hard every day.
My school has a very diverse climate in which socioeconomic factors play a major role. Our free and reduced-price lunch population is 75%. Student enrollment is currently at 513 children. not including preschool enrollment. Approximately 53% of the population are male and 47% are female. About 4% of our students are in the gifted and talented program, 13% are considered homeless, and 14% of the school receive special education.
My Project
Our recycling club is looking to expand our needs in the school. These recycling bins will be used to help the whole school. We will place a blue bin and a black bin in each classroom. The Blue bin is for plastic bottles and the black will be used for paper. Each Friday the members of the recycling club will collect the bins and empty them into our on-site larger recycling bins. Then our local officials from our county will proceed to pick up every week. It is involving the school as well as our community.
My students will learn to think about recycling and what positive impact they can create by starting in their own school.
