This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My scholars are from middle-class homes that have 2 working parents. They work extremely hard and push each other to be successful. Our school consists of a diverse group of scholars.
My students are self-driven and very motivated to achieve success.
I want to ignite their love for reading. I’d love to have a variety of books for them to read. Many of my students don't read at home. I want to provide them with books and a love for reading.
My Project
Many of my students don’t have books at home. I want to ensure they read in the classroom. If they have a variety of books to choose from they might not see it like a chore. I want them to know that reading is fun and is fundamental to everyday living. Reading is a life skill that they will need after college. I want to ignite their love for reading. Reading helps with fluency, and comprehension. All students have different likes and providing them with a variety of books and reading levels to choose from will ensure everyone has a book to read.
