This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Third-grader (Noun)
\ˈthərd grā-dər\
- Someone who is a mathematician, reader, writer, artist, scientist, dancer, leader, explorer, and friend.
- Someone who NEEDS access to technology, high-quality books and an inclusive place to learn.
My third graders are curious and they try hard...really hard. They love to read, write, explore, and find answers to questions.
Did you know that they are also BILINGUAL, bicultural, and biliterate? They speak, read, and write in two languages (English and Spanish). That also means that during the school day, they learn in both languages.
My Project
“There's no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading, and kids who are reading the wrong books.” James Patterson.
Giving children access to high quality, highly engaging books can make ALL the difference.
As a dual-language teacher, I am on a mission to put well-written Spanish literature in the hands of my students.
Spanish literature is not only hard to find, but also much more expensive than English books. With your support to this project, you will be putting books directly on the hands of my students. These books will not only be read at school, but students will be able to take these books home to share with family (and siblings!).
Help me help my students become life-long readers.
