My Project

Please help me obtain 12 copies of the Newberry Honor book, Hatchet. I want each student to have a copy of this book to follow along as I read it aloud. By having their copy, each student gets an opportunity to see the text, see how context clues help figure out the meaning of certain words, and in general, just help them stay involved in the reading of the text.

My students enjoy the "Read Aloud" time of our ELA block so much and often ask for me to continue reading even when it is time to move on to something else.

I enjoy seeing them develop the "Love" for reading that rich and complex texts, like Hatchet, bring.
