My Project
This year the Department of Education decided that PreK classes would start using a new curriculum with completely new units of study. When they made this decision the city bought us the basic materials but no books to help us supplement it.
Children love books about things they can relate to and I bet they will love reading these books about clothes.
When I share these books about clothes my students will also be learning about clothes in many different ways: dressing up in the Dramatic Play area, pretending to do laundry in the Sensory Table, painting with shoe laces in Art and counting and sorting buttons in Table Toys.
Clothing study will be able to get a chance to explore the world of clothing and the investigations. They will learn vocabulary and will see a web of connection that will allow them to understand the process, production and manufacturing of clothing. The books I am requesting will enrich this study immensely.
