My Students

I have a group of twenty-two amazing five-year-old Kindergarten students. We are located in a small rural district in northeastern Oklahoma. The majority of the schools in our district are Title I. Our community has a very high Native American population, as it is the home for nine Tribal Nations. Many of my students are experiencing being in a school setting for the first time. We are preparing them and building a foundation for them to continue to become successful scholars.

My Project

We are asking for thirteen new books for our classroom. We are asking for a mix of Dr. Seuss books and some books about some amazing historical women.

We love to read, and we would like some more rhyming books and some books about some women we look up to.

We are asking for 10 new Dr. Seuss books. They range from Bartholomew and the Oobleck to On Beyond Zebra! We are also asking for 3 books about some amazing women from History. We would like some books about Dr. Temple Grandin, Dr. Patricia Bath and Raye Montague.
