This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have the pleasure of working with all grade groups (K-8th). My students are truly wonderful to work with! Even with the challenges of distance learning from the previous school year, my kids are hopeful, resilient and excited for this school year. I am most proud of their kindness and acceptance toward one another. They knew how to encourage and support each other before they knew what those acts were called. The purest form of selflessness. I love them so much and am excited to learn from them as well as teach them! I want to help my middle school aged kids fall in love with outdoor play and getting active. I want them to see that it is okay to unplug from time to time.
My Project
I want to teach my students that there is so much fun beyond electronics. I am going to use the Leggos as brain breaks between assignments. This will allow my students and opportunity to reset their minds and get the creativity flowing again. I want my students to find their creativity and learn to balance active play with technical play. My students are receptive to change so I know if given an alternative play option they would embrace the change. As an educator, I wish to afford my students every opportunity to flourish and to be aware of different options to learn.
