My students need materials to help them understand the life processes being taught. There have not been any supplies ordered for this classroom in over three years and there is no budget for this school year.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Reed's classroom raised $638

My Students
My students are in grade 7. Twenty percent of these students have learning disabilities and need to use hands-on activities to understand concepts. They have not had an official science class until this year. Their science background is lacking and they need all the hands-on experience they can get in order to catch them up to where they should be. They are very inquisitive, deserving, and hardworking students that have not had the opportunity to have an official science class. The equipment in their classroom is old and much of it is inoperable.
My Project
This project will allow me to show students the processes of life from fertilization through the inner workings of an organism. They will be able to see and experience the incubation of chicken eggs, the organs and processes within an organism, and the life cycle of a butterfly. They will be able to see and experience these processes first hand, which will allow them to understand the processes and concepts. Through working with and assisting in the hatching of chicks, as well as the process of metamorphosis they will feel that they were a part of these incredible life events.
