This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a raised garden bed for my kindergarten students. My students are kind and creative individuals. They are at that perfect age when they love to explore, learn, and ask lots of questions. In a few weeks they will be learning about plants and their life cycles. My main intention with this project is to teach my students through a hands-on approach. I want my students to learn by touching the soil and by planting their own seeds.

Having this wooden raised bed will help my students to internalize how people can sustain themselves by growing their own vegetables.

Along with the garden bed, I have also requested seeds, potting soil, and gardening tools that will help my students take care of their own plants. Although my students are in kindergarten, they do not have a place or garden to explore. If our project gets funded, we hope to create an awareness for our entire school. We look forward to learning a lot with this little garden and we hope you can support our project.
