Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Teaching about diversity and inclusion has been a priority for my school.
These puzzles that represent disabilities and different families would allow students to identify and learn about different cultures of other students and families in a hands-on way.
Also, puzzle teaches students that each piece is a fraction of the bigger picture. Puzzles also help develop basic skills such as concentration, goal setting, patience, and a sense of achievement. Puzzles also help students with disabilities with finger strength and hand and eye coordination. Students can work on all these skills as well as tap into learning about different diversities.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
