My school is made up mostly of children with autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivity, or other special needs.
My students are bright, inquisitive, and full of energy and life.
They want to make connections with their peers but this can be hard for children who have learning differences. The COVID-19 pandemic has made this particularly difficult for my students. Online learning and school closures have made building social connections and learning to work together difficult for my students. Even though they are living and learning through a pandemic, my students still want to make social connections.
My Project
Through cooperative play, students learn how to negotiate with each other and this is a skill they will use their whole lives. Children learn through play. Many social and emotional as well as academic skills are built as children play with each other, explore materials and learn how to cooperate with each other. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected my students' ability to learn and advance these skills.
Donating to my project will not only help improve and increase my students' social and emotional skills you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
School closures due to Covid-19 greatly affected my students' ability to build these valuable social and emotional skills. Playing together with blocks, trains, and cars helps children learn how to cooperate with each other and problem solve. These toys and supplies will help my students learn valuable skills that will improve their emotional intelligence and ability to negotiate with each other. Help me give my students the supplies that will help them build the skills needed to work as a team and increase their independence and social success.
