My students come from a variety of backgrounds and each year our population becomes more diverse. They are from a rural Eastern North Carolina county and our school is Title I. They come to school every day with energy and a drive to learn.
Playing board games is a simple way for children to get quality, screen-free time with friends.
There are several benefits of playing board games. Board games build communication skills. Board games teach children how to follow instructions. Board games help children learn to fail. Board games create healthy competition. Board games help children understand how others think. These are just a few benefits of playing board games. I would like to give my students an opportunity to strengthen these skills and enjoy learning at the same time.
These board games will be used during indoor recess or when students have earned incentives.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
