it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love learning new things and having new experiences. After a year and a half of quarantine from COVID, they are eager to jump back into normalcy. I am excited to coach softball this year and teach them the basics of the game. Softball is a game I have always loved to play and I want to pass on my passion for the game to them.
My Project
My project will not only teach softball skills but also help with their mental health as well. My students will use these softball gloves to learn how to properly play the game of softball. They will also learn how to be leaders, role models, the value of teamwork, and many more life skills that they carry with them into adulthood. We will practice 3 days a week for 1 hour per day. Each day, a different girl will lead the team in stretches. She will be the team captain for that day. I will pick a new girl each day as I want all of them to have the experience of being team captains.
