Let's Play Pretend: Where Learning First Begins

Help me give my students a help-yourself dress-up center for our classroom dramatic play center.

My Project

I teach twenty amazing Pre-K students each year who love to explore, investigate, and play dress up. Providing the help-yourself pretend center will provide the children with opportunities to be independent through play. The pretend center would help them become more responsible as they learn to clean up and put things away during clean-up time as well.

Covid -19 has impacted learning in many ways to include children who struggle with communicating and also learning how to engage in pretend play as well.

I have witnessed children who come into the classroom with less desire for pretend play and more of a desire for screen time. I believe this project would encourage them to want to pretend play in a variety of ways. Their language and communication skills will continue to grow as they pretend and make sense of their world through play.
