This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my students have had limited opportunities to participate in sports or practice sport skills. Incorporating the game of pickleball to our physical education program would provide my students an opportunity to learn about a different sport and its health benefits.
Using the paddles, balls, and nets, I will engage my students in learning the physical skills needed to play the game along with sportsmanship, cooperation, and teamwork.
Additionally, this equipment will positively impact the amount of time students spend actively moving which directly affects their fitness. Also, this game is great for all ages which in turn encourages a lifelong active lifestyle.
