This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Pre-K students love coming to school to learn and play with their friends. They think our classroom is perfect. They don't see that if we had a few extra materials, we would be able to do so many more things.
They are happy with what we have, but I want to give them more.
We are the only Pre-K class at our school and my students are a great bunch of kids. They are just starting out and they are so excited to come to school every day.
As their teacher, I try to maintain that excitement so that they will always love coming to school. Most of them come from very low income homes and have never been in school before entering my class.
My Project
My students are really in need of high-quality physical education materials. In pre-kindergarten, we have outdoor recess time every single day. However our playground is not the most exciting place to play. I would like things like balls and platform stilts for my students to play with while we are on the playground to make it more fun and exciting. We also need the cart to help us get all these great materials from one place to another.
These materials will help them with those super important gross motor skills that are developing quickly at this age.
At this age, healthy habits can be made so easily and I want to help them develop the habit of being physically active every day. These materials will help me send the message to my students that being active can be a lot of fun.
