My students need light activities, math games and STEM kits to help them discover, explore, create, practice their skills in counting, measuring and build on their problem-solving skills.

My Students

My students are so excited about learning. They are so energetic and curious just about everything. Everyday is like an adventure in our classroom. I teach at a Title I school where the students receive 100% free breakfast and lunch. Most are in single family homes and live in high poverty areas.

I have students who learn best when they are actively involved as they play, explore, experiment, discover and create with objects.

I actively engage my students into thinking processes and encourage them to use their questioning, investigating and problem solving skills to help them learn.

My Project

The light table activities, math games and stem kits will be great resources for additional exploration and discovery for my students.

The light table activities that include translucent pegs, buttons and dominoes will help my students practice sorting, counting, comparing, number matching, practice numbers & quantities and create light-up patterns and designs.

It will also explore the properties of color & light while building math skills!

The stem kits will be very helpful to students and encourage open-ended building with minimal teacher involvement. They are presented with a story and a problem where they will be able to plan, create and then test their solutions.

The math games will be very essential in helping them build on their graphing skills, using fun fruit shapes to practice patterning and for measurement concepts where the students can take cubes to measure and compare objects. This will enable my students to gain better math skills in a great concrete way.
