it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a fourth grade teacher of an amazing group of 9 and 10 year old children. They are so eager to please and are ready to take in anything presented to them. They live in a community that is stricken by a level of high poverty. A lot of them have limited and/or a lack of the essential necessities. This however, does not hinder or affect their desire to be productive students. They make me love my job that much more.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of playground equipment on behalf of my students to use at recess. My students very often ask for different types of sports balls, hula hoops and jump ropes to play with. They look forward to recess time because it is one of the only times during the day where my students are outside playing with others. The students really want to spend their entire recess getting their much-needed physical activity. The students will also learn good sportsmanship skills by the use of this new playground equipment.
I am requesting items such as basketballs, volleyballs, footballs, soccer balls and different types of outdoor games so that my students can be actively engaged in physical activities during recess.
My students currently just walk around outside and say they are bored. With this new equipment, they will be so excited! They will be engaged and actively involved with each other. The students really want to play basketball, football, volleyball or soccer during recess but are missing the equipment to do so. A donation to this project will give my students the equipment they need to be active and most importantly become healthier and happier children.
