This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The population of students that attend my school is mainly high-poverty children. Their parents are predominantly low-income and hard-working people. Some of my students live only with their mothers and siblings renting a room in a house. My students are enrolled in the Pre-K For All program at the school where I teach. I have 14 4-year-old students. I also have a teacher's assistant. My students are very eager to learn. They come in every day with a smile on their face, ready to learn.
My Project
Both my teacher's assistant and I will help children learn how to wait their turn and socialize while playing the board games. We will teach them many skills like cooperation, memory recall, vocabulary, and matching. Since they are English language learners, those games will come in handy.
The sensory items will help with my five senses unit, such as the listening eggs and the scents.
That is a challenge because we would have to prepare it daily, but now, the children can investigate independently with these items.
