This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students I teach come from a variety of different economic backgrounds, with 100% of students receiving free lunch. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in San Diego. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, and Burmese.
Our school is home to students that strive to be confident, respectful, responsible, and healthy thinkers.
I am kindly asking for your support in helping us as we continue distance learning.
My Project
Multiplication is a main tool for many forms of maths such as algebra, calculus, equations, and more. It's also the best (according to kids) thing about math in third grade. The ability to rehearse and understand multiplication up to and including 12 by the end of the year allows students to confidently and skillfully tackle the more complex problems.
Please help me give my students each a set of multiplication flash cards to study with this year.
Having cards the students can take home each night will be such a great tool for them to continue their learning. I'd also like to have a class array model to teach with. This large model will allow students to interact with the lessons being taught.
