it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is an elementary school that serves students from kindergarten to fifth grade. We are located in the middle of a diverse and dense urban population in Los Angeles, California. We are part of a Spanish one-way bilingual immersion program.
We are a Title I school that serves low-income families from different cultural backgrounds and diverse needs.
As a Title I school, providing essential learning tools is vital in supporting student learning.
My Project
After more than 15 months of not being in school students were super excited to get back to their classrooms. Importantly, they were eager to once again socialize with their peers and play. Besides our learning goals, schools play an important part in building students' social-emotional foundation. Additionally, student movement took a long pause and for some students, it was on complete standby throughout our school closures.
Kids are both excited and eager to move, run, jump and play.
Physical activity supports students in both their academic and social development. PE, recess, and lunch with help students to begin burning more calories and pumping those hearts. At the same time, they will be learning structure, friendly competition, sportsmanship, and responsibility.
The materials requested will help students participate in organized play such as basketball, soccer, handball, and jump roping. Activities they participate in during PE, recess, and lunch.
