Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
More and more children are overweight in our society and it has become an important issue for our future generation. As an educator, I feel more urgency to teach our students.
I have a diverse group of students with many different ethnic backgrounds.
More than half of the students are English learners. Many of my students come from low income families with both parents working. More than 70% of the students are on free meal tickets everyday for breakfast and lunch. Fast food is an easy way to fill a hungry stomach.
My Project
Developing a healthy eating habit is crucial for our young students. Sweet or salty chip and cookies are considered snacks. Lunchables, high in sodium, is brought as lunch without a second thought. Unopened lunches fill the trash bins by our students daily. We need to effectively educate our students at an early age. I would like teach about balanced meals and how it helps our body. Students will play with games, puzzles, and center activities to practice planning out healthy meals. Knowing and choosing to take a healthy snack is my goal for my kindergarten students.
Please help us educate our students to practice healthy eating habits.
Your donation to this project will provide fun ways to learn about balanced meals. Healthy children make healthy world!
