Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
More and more children are overweight in our school and we need to make play more fun, so that they will want to exercise.
I have a diverse group of students with many different ethnic backgrounds.
More than half of the students are English learners. Many of my students come from low income families with both parents working. More than 70%of the students are on free meal tickets everyday for breakfast and lunch. Fast food is an easy way to fill a hungry stomach.
My Project
Our students have limited playground equipment. Kindergarten yard accommodates about 120 students during snack and lunch time. Unfortunately, our playground equipment is old and outdated. We would like to have an organized games with beanbags, soft ball, and mats. Having a relay race using the balancing ball on a spoon will promote eye hand coordination. I can't wait to see the smiles on their faces when they cheer for each other.
