Let's Make Writing Fun, Part 2

Help me give my students empowering writing journals to work on writing every day.

My Project

My kindergarteners love to come to school. They look forward to the day's activities. They love to work with different tools and supplies. I am requesting writing journals for my students. These journals have specific handwriting lines and a spot for a drawing. These color-coded lines are very helpful for emergent writers. I wish you could see the joy on my students' faces as they work on writing. They proudly show their sentences to me and their classmates. We will begin by writing about the 100th day, Martin Luther King Jr., Black History month, Lunar New Year, and more. I teach at one of the most diverse schools in the country and try my best to teach about all cultures.

Writing helps students recognize that their thoughts and ideas are worth sharing.

My kindergarteners will be able to have a place to write about what they are learning in these journals. These experiences lead to gains in reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills. I also find that my students are motivated and highly engaged when they are immersed in their learning. I am also requesting gold favor boxes for Lunar New Year.
