My Students

For the first 8 weeks of school, I have been teaching 22 fabulous first grade students virtually from home. I have really enjoyed our time together building relationships and foundational skills online through our Zoom meetings in whole group and small group instruction. The students have also been completing assignments independently on Canvas. They know how to follow our daily routines, get into their Zoom meetings daily, how to mute and unmute themselves, and how to maneuver our online learning platform Canvas by uploading videos, photos, PDFs, and Google Docs! They are incredible learners!

My Project

Soon we will be returning to our classroom and will be creating a safe and healthy learning environment for optimal social and academic growth, which is most important. My students and I will spend about 7 hours in our classroom together each day, and I want to give them the best chance for focusing on learning opportunities instead of worrying about safety of our classroom. My students will feel secure in our clean, safe, and healthy learning environment with this air purifier. When they feel safe, students are able to focus better on learning.
