Help me give my students books about art to learn about how artists view the world differently than others! We will use these books to inspire our very own art pieces!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse city school in an older neighborhood. The students that will benefit from this project are 5 to 7 year olds, for most of whom, this is their first experience with learning in a formal setting. They are so excited to learn about the world around them! When I can use that budding excitement and create learning momentum with it, the perfect environment for character development and life skills can be created!
My students are on fire for reading and progressing at lightning speed, but they could use materials specifically created to build reading skills at this age level!
My Project
Great visual arts masterpieces will be brought to life via these amazing fictional books about the artists and the pieces they've created! My students will be inspired by these books, helping to make fine art available and relatable to younger learners. The kids will study these works of art and then try on the different styles of these famous artists, and discover that art is a passion, takes hard work, and that they too, in fact, art artists! Please consider helping my students and me live out loud via visual arts!
