Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These hands-on activities will help keep my students engaged while learning to read. My classroom has some manipulatives, but not many. I often hear my students say "those again" or they will choose the ones they are familiar or comfortable with. Every one of my students looks for something similar but loses interest when it's the same thing.

I would like to expand my reading manipulatives with the help of this project.

All of these items have been chosen with my students in mind - I have watched them to see what they choose and the comments they make. Having a variety of reading manipulatives to choose from, my students will continue to enjoy learning how to read independently.

With these new activities, my students will be able to choose from a variety of manipulatives that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. They will also be able to choose activities that interest them, such as the alphabet learning locks, the center games, and bingo. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these hands-on activities will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the hands-on activities
