My Students
Hello all! I’m a second year sixth grade English teacher at PLES. We are a Title I public school in Phoenix, Arizona. My kiddos love to read, and I try to expose them to as many books as I can, but as a new teacher my library is kinda sad. I want to be able to provide them with a copy of Bud not Buddy so we can do a novel study this school year. Since we are virtual and we can't share supplies if we do come back to classroom I would love to give them each a copy of the book so we can learn about reading hands on instead of through a computer screen or audio book.
My Project
I am going to be a brand new math teacher next year, which we all know can be a challenge. I would love to be able to give my 5th graders all the math manipulatives they need to have a successful year, and more importantly have fun while doing it! These math manipulatives will make understanding some difficult concepts easier by giving them something they can physically put their hands on. After the difficulty of the 2020-2021 school year, I would love to be able to ease some of the stress and provide my students with the best learning environment and supplies.
