My students need craft materials such as glitter, buttons, and pipe cleaners in order to make learning across all subjects fun, creative, and hands on.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. W.'s classroom raised $215

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Kindergarten is an exciting time in a child's life. Most are entering school for the first time. Help me make it fun to learn with hands on learning materials!
My students are largely ELL (English Language Learner) students.
They do not come to school with the same vocabulary that most Kindergarten students do. It is important for the lessons that they learn to be as visual and hands on as possible so that they can understand the lessons without understanding the language.
My Project
I am requesting modeling clay, paints, pipe cleaners, wiggle eyes, wikki stix, glitter, and buttons in order to make our lessons hands on. Some examples of things that these items will be used to learn are beginning sounds (we will make a model of different items that start with the letter of the week), writing our letters (we will use the wiki stixs to make the letters on our desks), buttons will be used during math for sorting and counting, the glitter, paints, and modeling clay will also be used during science to help us understand animals, weather, and plants.
Funding this project will create hands on lessons that will allow my students to master the kindergarten standards.
Research shows that hands-on learning is the most successful way for students to retain information over a long period of time.
