My students need a computer for their Math Resource and Technology Center. The Student Council conducted a survey and "Need More Computers" was ranked #1.

My Students
When I decided to continue to strife to create a Math Resource Center that would be student centered, I thought about the word of the month for our school "Perseverance" and connected my thoughts to the results of the student survey. I am committed to creating the best resource Center possible...
Because I am the school's Math Coach K-8, I encounter every class in the school at some point in the day.
The students ability level range from Mentally Handicapped/Emotionally Disturbed to Academically Gifted/Regents Level (Which I teach). I Love each one the same. It is amazing how I have connected with all my students. Many of the students live in the New York City Public Housing Complex adjacent and opposite the school.
My Project
The computer I am requesting will make a huge difference in the students' school experience and school culture. I plan to label the Computer Center "Student Computer Center" and create a systematic way for students to gain access to station to print projects, type essays, and research topics. Our computer lab currently only have 12 up to date working computers. In addition to working with manipulatives, review math concepts, and build math vocabulary by writing. I plan to have at least 4 computers just for students to use during pull outs, lunch, and after-school tutoring sessions. Please help!!!!!!!!
I believe my vision for the "New MATH RESOURCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER" is the wave of the 21st Century.
Students have to be able to think critically and independently. My goal is to have a system for students to self direct their efforts in the Center with the educator's role to simply be "on call" in case they need us....This is the central vision of the common core and college readiness and the long term impact something as simple as a Resource Center such as this one can do for my students.
