Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For kindergarten students, one of the best ways they are able to learn is through hands on projects. Centers or stations are a commonly used method that allows for student exploration. Students rotate between different designated centers or stations that offer a variety of open-ended experiences. An art centers can range from a building station, painting station, clay station, and more.
Art centers not only allow children to express themselves, they are also excellent opportunities for increasing fine/gross motor skills, critical thinking skills, and developing the ability to follow multi-step directions.
This project would allow me to provide my students with new materials for our art center or station. Many of my students do not have access to basic art supplies outside of the school setting. With this project, I hope to encourage creativity.
