My students are a brilliant bunch of individuals who work diligently to overcome the adversities of living in a Title I area. They enjoy delving into music technology. Because most of their experiences with technology in the instructional setting are limited to PCs and Chromebooks, they are at a disadvantage; exposure to Mac will position students to be more globally competitive.
In the professional setting, the majority of Music Technology has shifted to Mac.
Access to a Macbook will create opportunities for my young musicians to create, discover, and explore. While I have been able to expand their creative horizons with a donated iPad, there is so much more that they can explore through apps that are featured on Macs that can not be found on PCs or Chromebooks. Macbooks are the dream device for creatives - options are limitless. Access to a Macbook will create greater opportunities for these young musicians to create, discover, and explore.
