This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom doesn't have a listening center where students can listen to previous stories read during shared readings.
My school is an inner-city, Title I public school, consisting of about 62% Latinos and 31% African Americans.
My 3rd grade students come from broken homes and economically disadvantaged families. My school is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch.
My Project
The listening center would provide the students with remedial listening skills and fluency reading skills as they listen and read along in their textbooks. We will be using the listening center during Guided Reading time. They will be listening to stories we'd read previously in order to help them become more proficient readers.
Please help my students get their listening center.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated. This listening center will make a big difference in my children's education. Thank you so much for your support.
