This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need ten headphones with microphones in order to listen to and record stories on the computer.
I currently teach 32 first graders in a Title I school located in a high poverty and high crime area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken. I have 1 Special Education student and 7 ESL students in my classroom.
My Project
My students will be using the headphones during our literacy block. Every morning my students listen to and read stories on the computer on a program called Raz-Kids. After listening and reading the story, the students will then record themselves reading the stories. They also will listen to their recordings. In order to implement this program, my little ones need headphones with microphones.
Please help my first graders become the best readers that they can be.
Thanks so much for considering this project. I would love if my little ones would be able to listen to and record stories.
