Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California. The children from San Pedro come to school each morning ready to learn and grow. There is never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They are eager to learn, explore, and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more materials for the children to engage with, materials that will foster their interest in multicultural awareness, empathy, good behavior, good self-esteem, differing abilities, different family settings and pro-social skills.

My Project

The Learn to Get Along book set will help me teach my students to treat each other with respect, to listen, talk and work out problems with each other and to share and take turns. The Differing Abilities book set will help raise my students' awareness and tolerance of the different special needs children have. The Multicultural Stories Paperback Library will help my students gain pride in themselves and understanding of others. The All Kinds of Families Puzzle Set will give my students an up close look at all kinds of families and their different backgrounds, ethnicities, traditions and makeup.
