Let's Learn it Our Way in 2nd Grade!

My students need Lakeshore math centers and folder games as well as Lakeshore reading and writing activity stations and a mobile organizer.

My Students

Change is good! I am moving to second grade! This is my first year teaching 2nd grade. I am in need of many things to help me reach my learners where they are.

We have a very diverse group of students who need to learn at their level and at their own pace.

They are from many socioeconomic groups; however most are lower. They love to learn and strive to succeed and need hands-on materials to do this.

My Project

I plan to use the Lakeshore Reading and Writing Activity Stations set as one station during our daily math and ELA blocks. The centers allow me to vary activities by skill and need and change them to meet the needs of all students.

I believe that children need specific individual or small group instruction at their level.

This being said, the folder games and activity centers allow students to work on skills they need to propel them forward. Students will be put into math and ELA flexible groups with other children needing the same skills. They will rotate through areas, each area focusing on a different skill. We will be able to organize our new centers and folders into the organizer so all students can access games, centers, and folders that they need to work on for their individual progress.
