This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All students can learn, just not all the same way. If they can't learn the typical way, then we should try finding an alternative way to learn. What better than providing alternative seating areas in the classroom.

I teach 2nd grade students at the first dual language school in our school district.

All my students are second language learners. The majority come from a financially disadvantaged background. Children are bussed in from different schools. Children are here by choice. They are challenged and kept engaged daily. They love to learn.

My Project

With these wobble chairs students will be able to move their working area from anywhere in the classroom, or in school for that matter. They will be able to collaborate in groups in any small space in the classroom. When we move to the computer lab, they will easily carry their working station. They will use them during small group, whole group, writing time, and during collaboration grouping.

With these wobble chairs I will be able to have more areas for students to work.

My students will be able to use their wobble chair any time of the day. It will allow them to move while they are learning. Many of my students are full of energy and these stools will allow them to shake their wiggles out without moving away from their stool.
