My Students
My students are in temporary housing. I am the community coordinator and I support students and their families with housing, benefits, and all other needs.
While many of my students are experiencing displacement, homelessness, doubled up, etc.
many of them are still doing well in class and are resilient enough not to let those circumstances stop them from being all they can be.
My students are special needs and are diagnosed with different mental, educational, or social disabilities. They still work just as hard as the students in general education.
My Project
Hello,
I would like to give a couple of my low income female students the opportunity to learn about the wildlife around them.
There are so many beautiful wildlife animals that assist with regulating the ecosystem.
I am inspired by the women in STEM to educate my students on these beautiful animals and also the different hobbies and paths that my students can go on as they get older. My students are primarily Black and Brown so these opportunities to learn outside of curriculum do not come too often.
We will go out into our communities and snap as many pictures as possible. We will also create an album from our pictures and begins to label the various different wildlife animals so we know exactly who is inhabiting our neighborhoods!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
