My Project

My students are eager learners and are always curious about what they learn throughout the day. I want to be able to provide my students with a variety of different materials to enhance their learning experiences. I created this project to bring a fun and interactive approach to learning about the world around us. Every morning meeting I will ask a student to be our weather reporter and to look out the window and report to the class what it looks and feels like outside. We live in a beautiful city that we experience all four seasons throughout the year and the students have began noticing the differences when seasons are changing.

Having these resources in the classroom will help my entire classroom and future learners dive deeper into learning about the world around us.

My students love to explore and when given the appropriate materials they thrive! The materials in my project will be used to enhance our Tree Study, Reduce and Reuse Study and also when there is an interest shown by the students about the environment around us (typically when the change of season is drastically noticed). My students love to listen to me read and having literacy connecting to our world around us will be another way to reinforce what we are learning about the environment. Not only are reading materials important to reinforce learning in the classroom but the hands on materials of the discovery kits, magnetic tin activity sets, stones and games will give students concrete materials to touch and explore all while learning about the environment! The rich conversations, connections to patterns and math concepts, basic science learning and so much more when the resources are available create endless possibilities in the classroom!
