I currently teach first grade and my class has a variety of learners and interests. The students are performing at various levels including, approaching, on and above level. We use various programs that spark their love for learning and reading.
As a teacher, I try to tap into each and every students learning style to help each student reach their potential every single day.
We will sing songs, use technology, physical education, science and so on to continue to keep students excited about learning.
As a school and grade level we work together to help our students in different ways. We collaborate daily and have support from each other. All of these types of collaboration help each and every child succeed in all academic and social areas.
My Project
Scholastic News and Science Spin Magazines are a great way for students to explore the informational text in a new and different way while also giving them digital access. Children often find that their families get their news from online sources they are not familiar with print magazines. This project will allow them to have that experience.
Using Scholastic News and Science Spin Magazines will give my students the opportunity to read an informational text without using the internet.
These magazines will enhance and aid in the various topics being covered in the classroom. Each month, Scholastic News Magazines cover topics about holidays or events happening in that month. Science Spin gives amazing visuals and more in depth information about the topics we are covering in our class. These magazines will make learning more fun and engaging each time we use them.
