I don't know about you, but I think music makes things better! Whether you are working on your chores, doing your school work or just playing. If you have that music playing you almost forget about the "job"! Help me keep my students moving without them really thinking about it!
My students love coming to PE!
I am a firm believer that they need to get their energy out when they are with me. Then when they return to their classroom they are focused and ready to learn. I have noticed over the years that they truly enjoy listening to music while we play our games. They somewhat "loose" themselves and give it all they've got without even thinking about what they are actually doing...exercising! In this day and time kids don't play outside when they get home; whether it's the neighborhood they live in or the fact that they are glued to a video game. They need to exercise! And quite often school is the only place that will happen.
My Project
My students need a new iPod, with a two year warranty in order for them to be able to listen to music during their games. I teach in a very challenging atmosphere. I teach outside on a playground that is located on a very busy road with lots of traffic! Oh yeah, did I mention it is across from a hospital too! I work hard to keep my students attention, which in turn keeps them active the entire time they are with me. Having a new iPod will ensure that we will be able to play music for all of our classes.
If my project is funded I will have the tools at my fingertips to ensure I give my students the ability to give me all they've got!
