My Students
These are students living in a low-income community with limited experience and understanding of Visual Arts activities and are from varying backgrounds. Nonetheless, in my observation, they are thirsty for a direction to new ideas.
These students may be defined by ethnicity and socioeconomic variables but should not be limited to the lack of a creative opportunity in a free public learning environment.
I have come to understand that quite a number of these children either live in foster homes, single-parent homes, or have one parent being incarcerated for varying reasons. This stresses a psychological mishap on their behavior daily when socializing and expressing themselves.
My Project
These materials will help my students to continue enjoying their painting experiences in the classroom. These students have just been introduced to using paintbrushes and canvasses to paint like famous artist who have inspired many generations.
These mixed-media materials will allow my students to explore various painting techniques as they grow in the art discipline.
An introduction to more than one painting technique will develop and highlight students' strengths and their appreciation of the Visual Arts. Having the right tools to encourage students will lead to more fun with painting.
