This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a mixed population of Hispanic, Native Americans, African Americans, and Caucasians. We are a Title I elementary school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students come to school in the same clothes every day. Our students do not have an opportunity to experience, extracurricular activities at home or outside of school. We do our best to bring current educational trends to our school to benefit our students.
This will be the second year of our "2 Way" school where each child will experience an English and a Spanish instructor.
My Project
My students are "new" to classroom projects. When they finally "perfect" a goal and are proud to "show off" their work -- laminating will save it forever! I still look through my boys work from 20 years ago and wished it had been laminated.
Another aspect of good laminating is I can make specific writing work, math problems, and reading lessons for the student to use with a dry erase marker.
This can be used at school as well as at home! Practice makes perfect! So this project is two fold -- one for lasting memories and one for best practices!
More than half of students from low‑income households
