Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a low-income, high-poverty community. For many of my students, my classroom is their first school experience. They receive free breakfast and lunch at school.
My students are loving, energetic, and eager learners who come from diverse cultural backgrounds and most are learning English as a second language.
Returning to in-person learning after an 18-month closure has left my students with many academic and social challenges. Unfortunately, most parents cannot help at home with school activities because they work long hours, and many do not speak English.
Despite these struggles, my students come to my class every day with a smile and ready to learn.
My Project
These cleaning resources will help me keep our classroom clean and germ-free. The Swiffer will help us clean our floors. The disinfectant wipes, alcohol wipes, and all-purpose cleaners will help keep our chairs and tables germ-free. This is especially crucial now that COVID-19 variants are becoming highly contagious.
My students are young learners that need to have a clean and healthy learning environment, especially during this pandemic.
We must keep germs/viruses out and let the learning continue.
