This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love the individuality of every single one of my students. Each student brings a unique perspective to our daily interactions, from their jokes, their kind-hearted nature, to their lively inquisitive questions. My students are all very special, not afraid of making mistakes enjoying the task at hand, and truly exploring and experiencing each activity we take part in.
Our favorite activity is music and dance.
We love to swing, shimmy, and shake to the beat of all genres. All of our students love to play the drums however, in our class of 14 there are only two small drums.
We love to use the drums to keep and repeat beats as we explore different songs. Having a full drum set will allow the class to learn to work together and listen to each as we practice learning the same beat. Currently, we sit on our morning meeting rug and use the floor in front of us to practice. Having a full set will allow the students to practice and learn complete songs as one whole group. When students can practice as a group, we reinforce the ideas that we are a community of learners who work together to achieve greatness.
