My students need hands on science materials such as magnets, sort and match kits, and a science center to investigate different projects on a daily basis.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help bring Science investigations back into the classroom! Kids need to be able to have hands on experiments to help them grasp the concept being taught.
My students come from a low economic status community.
We are a Title I school and more than 98% of our kids qualify for free or reduced lunch. They are lucky to come to school with the clothes on their back. It is our job to provide the "extra" stuff to make learning fun and inspirational to keep them motivated.
My Project
I have 66 students that pass through my classroom on a daily basis. Receiving funds to help bring magnets, a science center, and hands on science kits will give theses students a hands on experience that will help them grasp the objectives being taught. Many of the objectives are abstract and hard to grasp without having a more concrete object to see/use.
You can help make a difference in the lives of these students!
Texas is pushing science and it is crucial to have the means necessary to ensure that these students are prepared for what the future has to bring.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
